Checking Outback Road Conditions
The effects from the deluge we saw in March 2025 in the Simpson Desert and western Queensland's channel country are still being felt by regional communities and travelers alike. Three months after the downpour, the Simpson Desert is fully open again. The QAA Line and Munga-Thirri National Park reopened just a few days ago, allowing 4WD traffic between Birdsville and Poeppel Corner for the first time in over ten weeks. But there are still lots of road closures and hazards to consider when planning a trip.
In this video I show you some of the resources I use in the lead up to any outback tour, to regularly check and monitor road conditions that may affect the tour.
