Tailing Tie Downs
Once you have secured a load, you need to tail and secure the excess length of your tie down strap. You want to ensure the ends don’t come loose and start flapping around. If they go under a tyre or wrap around an axle you are unlikely to damage anything other than the strap, but a loose and flapping strap end can be a distraction for other drivers and does nothing for your credibility!
There are several techniques to tail and secure the excess end of a tie down strap. Some are more complicated than others and need a bit of practise. In this video, I demonstrate the simplest technique I know. It is not suited to every situation, but I guarantee you will remember how to do it.
